Kettlebell Torture?

So it seems the common thread from my last blog and the responses I received, here and on CK is that it's mostly about being in the right headspace, what that is for everyone and how you get there and maintain it, well it's all relative to the individual.  I do maintain though that truly getting honest with yourself which is difficult, is also a huge contributor well at least in my case!

So I had my double training session Tuesday, in the morning at boot camp I felt very flat like I was struggling to get through sand, I gave it my all but I didn't feel it was up to par.  By the evening though I seemed to have found somewhat of a second wind to get through Trainer Christian's session, which was Kettlebell torture.

What's so different this time?

Trainer Nate has been questioning me of late, he's quite fascinated with the whole process of what it was that changed for me, got me going on this journey of mine.  He often tries to ask me these questions while I'm skipping or doing lunges with 20kg weights.... not an easy feat to respond let me tell you! :D

The thing is it's a relevant and interesting question for which.... I don't have a definitive answer.  I've started many a program and diet over the years, Weight Watchers, Lite n Easy, Body4Life, magazine diets, low carb/high protein (Atkins style), I've read book after book, I've even had what most would consider a measure of success, I have more often than not lost weight on these programs or diets, but then I've fallen off the preverbial wagon, skipped a couple of days exercise and just found the whole thing too difficult to bother with and back down the rabbit hole I have fallen, regaining any lost weight plus more to boot.

Back to the 80's!!

Another major milestone!  Not only have I cracked my 40kg mark I've weighed in this morning at 88.8kg!  So not only have I hit the 80's I've truly crashed into them!  No eeking in at 89.9kg (which would still have been just as exciting!) but smash bang, 888.... hahahahha suppose I should be grateful it's not 666 then again! LOL  Measurements are coming along swimmingly very close to being out of triple figures on bust and hips!  Not long now, NOW that will be weird! :D

So this is an exciting occasion for me, it's been well and truly over 15 years since I've been this light.  So it's weird, exciting and wonderful all at the same time!

Thursday

So I am pulling up OK.  Yesterday my legs were S.O.R.E.  I pushed through on a 5.5km run in the morning.  This morning at boot camp we did boxing and once again my trainer truely took a hammering too me, including burpees, just for me.... aren't I lucky? :P  But I am not as incapacitated as last time, so that's a good improvement that I'm pleased with (although there is still the possibility of waking up tomorrow with a different story! hehe).  Tomorrow I am taking a rest day whew, but have plans for a hill session and a longer run over the weeekend.

I bought new running shoes, which I wore yesterday morning so will be breaking them in for the Mother's Day Classic.  And how lucky is this, because I know how important it is to go with the fit and comfort of a shoe, I tend to end up with crappy colours like green! WTF! hehehehehehe why they even make a women's shoe in green I don't know, anyway, this time not only did I get best fit and comfort, I got pretty purple! My favourite colour yay me! :D hehehehehe

Train hard or go home.....

Whew wow well I had a one on one session with Trainer Nate last night and then Boot Camp this morning, needless to say I am past ready for my nana nap! hahahaha

He had me running up and down my stairs holding weights above my head, two stairs at a time, skipping, and heavy weights. My landlords came out and were saying to him "Don't hurt her she's a really GREAT tennant!" hahahahahaha

I then surprised myself by still really getting into it this morning, I thought I'd be more smashed maybe it will hit me tomorrow!  My lower back was sore again this morning but I took some nurofen and it seems to have settled, I'm hoping it stays settled enough for me to do a 5km run tomorrow morning and then I think we are doing boxing again Thursday.

Relaxation, more goals...

How heavenly was this morning, I finally used one of my "Booty Camper of the Year (2009)" prize vouchers and went and got a full body massage, oh heaven, I'm still revelling in the smell of the oil she used.  I bought a few products with the rest of the voucher and plan on going back in a few weeks for a heavenly facial, maybe I'll throw in a back massage as well.

I floated around for the rest of day, did a little shopping but think I must have looked like I was high! hehehehhehe

On top of that I weighed in 100g off my 40kg lost mark.... ohhhhhh so close hehehehehe, almost in the 80's how exciting BUT officially now under 200 pounds... for those imperialists.... there seems to be something much more exotic about saying 86 pounds lost although I shouldn't minimise 39 or 40kg it's still quite as impressive isn't it?! :D

New Boots!

Come on you didn't expect me to let this milestone pass without blogging it !? :D  These are my new boots, aren't they purdy!  I have difficulty with getting boots to fit around my calves so I nearly wet my pants when I found these in Target and they fit! AND they were 25% off!

So I wore them with my new skirt on Monday BUT then on Tuesday I wandered into Katies and there was this grey dress that I just knew was the perfect dress to go with my new boots.... it basically screamed at me TAKE ME TO YOUR BOOTS!!! bahaahahahaha..... so who could resist? The cream on the cake... or the ummmm oops I should say the hummous on the carrot, was that it's a medium! :D

Running, running, running....

So I nixed the treadmill this morning and went for a run around my neighbourhood!  Aren't I a good girl? :D  I got onto Mapmyrun.com and mapped out a couple of different routes to check out their distance.  Of course I then went and confused myself by thinking I was doing the 5km this morning when in fact I missed a critical turn and only did the 4km.  But hey just a little over 30 mins and I was please with that, three hills I walked, but it takes me 40mins to do 4km on the treadmill, so I don't know what it is I don't feel I'm running faster outside but I must be.  I must just psych myself out with being forced to run the same speed on the tready, at least out side you can speed up down inclines, slow up when you need to etc....

One Year Anniversary

It's been a celebratory weekend.  I started it off with a new PB on my 3.4km run beating last months time of 23:31 with a 22.20!

This weekend is the one year anniversary of the start of my journey.  And what a journey it's been.

Last week and this weekend I did some shopping!  It's so hard to stop!  But come on everyone needs two pairs of jeans right?  One to wear and one in the wash.... that's my excuse and I am sticking to it!

Enjoying Shopping Again....

Finally my tax cheque came through.... note to self pay Accountant! hehehehhe.  So one-third is straight into savings for the Snow trip in July, and most of the rest is paying things off and onto the credit card, but come on I had to leave a little bit for me right?  I have no real clothes for the cooler weather.... no winter coat, so I just popped up to Target and K-mart at lunchtime to see what there was, oh how hard it is to resist when there are sales on.  So I ended up picking up a really nice winter coat, on special and size 14!  Woohoo me.  A size 12 skirt (double woohoo) some tops and two vest tops which I've never been able to wear before due to looking crap!  But then I never would have bought a coat with a belt either.

There's something so satisfying about going into the change room and not only having clothes fit but having them look nice!  I often talked about having an hourglass shape even when I was quite large, but seriously I must have been deluding myself a lot of clothes that should have suited me didn't... oh yeah because basically I was fat! Great to see that waist back and just loving the variety of clothes opening up to me these days!

Now I say bring on the cold so I can wear my new winter coat! :D
